The Hillsboro / Orenco Citizens Participation Organization (CPO 9) is somewhere to turn when you want to discuss local issues in a comfortable public forum. Meet neighbors who are interested in the community. Receive unbiased information. Work with others to influence the decisions that affect Hillsboro and Orenco and all of Washington County.
All residents, property owners, and busines owners of cities and unincorporated areas within the boundary of CPO 9 are encouraged to participate.
CPO 9 is advisory to Washington County and interacts with City of
Hillsboro and other local service providers, regional, and state
governments. Together, we can strengthen our community if you and other
citizens care enough to get involved.
There is no membership fee to participate, just an interest in community issues. Our CPO, as a group of citizens working together, may be every effective in influencing the decisions of local government. Topics of discussion are those of most interest to participants and may include:
- Election issues, candidate forums
- Public safety updates - County Sheriff's Office, Hillsboro Police Department, Hillsboro Fire Department, Emergency Management
- Code enforcement
- Livability issues
- Transportation
- Land development
